Roger Thomasson is an artist from Helsingborg, Sweden and has, despite his short time as an artist, got recognition around in Europe. Roger has studied both illustration and graphic design, but the feeling for art is a talent and inherited skill which can not be taught in any school.
Roger have said: “It doesn’t matter how great your camera is, if you don’t have the feeling for the image.”

Roger gets inspired by everything in his surroundings, new impressions often comes on trips far away from everyday life. In his artistry Roger always looks for new challenges to broaden his esthetic skills. Roger strives to create a feeling and a theme which goes through the whole artwork. This may be communicated by using a specific color to create an overall feeling and a new dimension to the image.
Take the artwork of Jimi Hendrix as an example. This painting has its origin in the song “Purple Haze” and the consistent purple color gives the painting its characteristics.

Since all surroundings are unique in some way – colors, space and atmosphere. Roger has developed his skills to create art specially composed for the surrounding it will be placed in. Size, color and theme – everything must fit to give the right dimensions.
Roger works much on photorealistic details which he blends with rough strokes. A fine balance between crisp details and a filthy look – everything to create dynamics and energy. Big and small in the same brushstroke.
